Three dead in S'kan noodle factory blast
SANDAKAN: Two Indonesians and a Filipino were killed after they were trapped under parts of a noodle processing factory which collapsed in Mile 9, here, Thursday. Baid Haydi, Sharil Muhd Amin and Herman Kaco, all 30 years old, worked in the factory.

District Fire and Rescue Department Chief Anddre Andrew said 14 personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a call at about 1.13pm.

The rescue operation was assisted by 13 police personnel, four paramedics from the Sandakan Duchess of Kent Hospital and a Rela personnel.

It was learnt that the incident was triggered by an explosion from the boiler, causing a portion of the building to fall onto the men who were believed to have died on the spot.
