Kota Kinabalu: The Tadika Tzu Yu Bersepadu (Integrated Tzu Yu Kindergarten) Management Board gives priority to holistic education for pre-school children.Chairperson of the Management Board, Wong Ing Hung, said this approach is essential for all-rounded development from the physical, mental, social and cultural perspectives.

"A strong foundation at this level will facilitate smooth transition to primary education when the time comes. For this to happen, the quality of teaching is equally important," she said when launching the kindergarten-level Chinese New Year 2015 celebration.

Towards this end, Wong, who is also President of the Kota Kinabalu Chinese Women Association (KKCWA), said the Management Board has in recent years undertaken to provide effective teaching-learning facilities. KKCWA founded the pre-school institution in the sixties.

She said it was worth the investment as the children have shown improvement in their academic performance and co-curricular activities.

Wong acknowledged the support and contributions of parents, which have in no small measure brought steady progress to the kindergarten.

Meanwhile, she thanked Organising Chairperson Ng Phit Yun and her Committee for their hard work in ensuring success of the celebration.

"I am happy to note that the headmistress, senior assistant and teachers have also played their part well in making the necessary preparations," she said.

Also present were KKCWA Deputy President Datin Margaret Lim Nyuk Chan, Legal Adviser Datin Vicky Yee, Permanent Honorary President Cheng Kuo Pao, Permanent Honorary Adviser Datin Lee Lian Tsin and Honorary Adviser Datuk Nancy Ho.
