Beaufort: The wait will soon be over for residents here as they will be able to move into the Kg Selagon People's Housing Project (PPR) that is scheduled to be completed by June this year.Beaufort MP Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun said the developers have assured that the PPR, which was launched in 2007 at a cost of RM23 million will be completed within three months.

According to her, some unforeseen problems had led the project under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government to be interrupted several times.

"I understand that this project is 80 per cent completed and I believe within three months' time the developers would be done.

"This would meet the needs of the people who have already been waiting for so long for this PPR homes to be completed," she said after a visit to the site, here.

Azizah, who is also Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, said only 67 housing units could be built at this time although 300 units had been initially proposed.

However, she said after having discussions with the ministry the construction of 300 housing units would be done in the near future.

In the meantime, she said the 67 units being developed on an area of four hectares would be completed with several facilities such as halls, prayer rooms, shop building and park.

"Every house which measures 763 square feet is also equipped with three rooms, each including a kitchen and a toilet," she said.
