Kota Kinabalu: The KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital has denied it has a new Covid-19 cluster as reported by the media following a press release issued by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday.
The private hospital said it is free of Covid-19 and that an individual identified as being positive for the disease on Feb 8 was not from KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital.
“KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital has taken all the precautionary and hygiene measures hospital-wide to minimise any health risks arising from the pandemic,” said the hospital in a statement.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah earlier said the cluster, named "Lorong Bersatu Damai", involved a medical centre at Lorong Bersatu, Jalan Damai, Kota Kinabalu and has spread to the city, Tuaran and Penampang.
“Our frontliners are provided with the necessary personal protection equipment and the hospital strictly adheres to the SOPs with the establishment of one Point-of-Entry screening and completion of self-declaration form by all patients and employees in ensuring a safe environment for all," said the private hospital further.
“The hospital’s management, consultants and staff remain vigilant in the fight against Covid-19.”
