NCA deal puts two native leaders on collision course

Kota Kinabalu: The controversial Nature Conservation Agreement (NCA) deal over monetising the State’s forests through carbon trading has not only pitted a former Chief Minister against a sitting Deputy Chief Minister.

Two Sabah advocates of indigenous Kadazan-Dusun-Murut rights – former Senator Adrian Lasimbang who heads the Jaringan Orang Asal Sabah and Deputy CM Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who enjoys Huguan Siou (paramount leader) status among the Dayak diaspora in Borneo – now appear headed to the courts over the issue.
