Tuaran: A senior citizen suffered injuries after she lost control of her car which skidded and overturned at Jalan Bypass Tuaran near the Road Transport Department (RTD) here.The victim, Chua Chung Ann @ Chua Tiong Ann, 67, suffered minor injuries before she was taken to Tuaran ospital for further treatment.
Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said they received an emergency call at 10.26pm before deploying a total of eight personnel, a machine and a utility vehicle from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) to the scene.
“As soon as the fire department arrived, the victim was rescued and given initial treatment before she was sent to Tuaran hospital using an EMRS.
“The firefighters then inspected the vehicle and the surrounding area to ensure there were no hazards,” he said.
Abdul Qawie said the victim’s car was discovered upside down before the incident was reported to the authorities.
“The cause of the incident is still being investigated,” he said while adding that the operation ended at 10.47pm.
