Kota Kinabalu: Team MMT Junior captured the Under-10 title at the Young Rhinos Grassroots football tournament held at the Likas Stadium over the weekend.

They edged AT Labuan 1-0 with the winning goal scored by Marjinus Musa in a tense final.

The interior team had earlier topped Group C and went on to beat SK Likas 2-0 in the quarter-final before Asmari Amran’s acrobatic bicycle kick sealed a 1-0 over Tabs Bandaraya in the semi-final.

Coach Stanley Ian praised the players for their fighting spirit and hoped the victory will motivate them to becoming great players in the future.

He also expressed his gratitude to the team manager Gideon Gadit, assistant coach Charlie Vicente and the parents for their roles in the success.
