Tuaran: Three members of a family were left homeless after the house they lived in was destroyed in a fire in Kg Kauluan near the Tamparuli National Service Training Center (PLKN) here on Friday.

Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said 13 firefighters were rushed to the scene with a fire tender and a utility vehicle from the Emergency Services Assistance Unit (EMRS), upon receiving a distress call at 12.16pm.

“Upon arrival at the location, the semi -permanent type house was destroyed 100 per cent.

“The hot weather and strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly but the fire brigade managed to control the fire before it spread to other houses.

“Property and some important documents belonging to the occupants were unable to be salvaged, and fortunately, none of the family members were injuries and no casualties reported,” he said.
