Tuaran: The digital medium has the capacity to inflame the Merdeka Month 2022 spirit especially among the youths, says Assistant Finance Minister Jasni Hj Daya.

“Campaign via the social media has to be strengthened in order to arouse the interest of the younger generation towards celebrating Independence,” he said.

Jasni who is also Assemblyman for Pantai Dalit was speaking when receiving the Merdeka Convoy at the town padang here, last Friday.

“We need to have more programmes that will endear the youths towards nationalism and this is best achieved through the social media,” he said.

He added that in today’s borderless world, those who are not IT-savvy will be left behind.

From Tuaran, the Convoy will go to Penampang for the last leg.
