Pressure on Tangau to rethink giving up Upko top post
“Tangau had shown his leadership qualities by winning two of the five seats it contested under the Pakatan Harapan logo. I know that many in the party are also of the opinion that a leadership change so soon after a good outing in GE15 is not in the party’s best interests,” said Jeffrey (left), who is an Upko Supreme Council member and a former Sabah PKR Information Chief, Chrisnadia Sinam (right) said Upko members expect Tangau to be made a full Minister.
Kota Kinabalu: Upko’s good showing in the recent GE15 where it won two parliamentary seats and the appointment of Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau into the powerful Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council are enough justification for him to continue as party president for the time being, party officials said.

Expectations are that Tangau may be made a full Federal Minister by virtue of his position in the council.

Pakatan was entrusted by the Agong to form a unity government after last week’s parliamentary elections failed to provide a simple majority winner.
