Stevie and Shelly capture Under-18 titles
The winners and officials after the closing ceremony.
Kota Kinabalu: Stevie Alfie Silvester from SMJK Tiong Hua captured the boys Under-18 title at the Sandakan School Sports Council tennis tournament held at the Sandakan District Tennis Association (SDTA) courts recently.

In second place was  Johnathan Josua Sunil from SMK Sung Siew followed by Sharrvineswaran A/L Uigneswaran also from SMK Sung Siew in third.

The girls Under-18 title was won by Shelly Rizal from SM St Cecilia Convent while fellow schoomates Dayangku Siti Sifiyana and Ryanna Raniella came in second and third respectively.

Another SMJK Tiong Hua student Shawn Alfie Silvester won the boys Under-15 title with schoolmate Braylen Odell Johannes in second and in third place was Farish Athmar Jamaludin from SMK Elopura 2.

In the girls Under-15, Bryana Scarllet also from SMJK Tiong Hua took the title followed by Leung Shu Qi from SMK Sung Siew and Louisa Jezzel Chin from SM St. Cecilia Convent.

SJKC Tai Tong students ruled supreme in the Under-12 event with Bardley Oscar Johannes taking the boys title while the girls title went to Scharllotte Avryll Silvester.

Mohd Faziezan Azief Rohjan from SK Melanta came in second in the boys category and in third place was Muhammad Ryan Rayzan from SK St Mary Town while the second and third place winners in the girls category went to Sandra Allysa Silvester from SJKC Tai Tong and Risainah Loris from SK St Mary Convent.

A total of 37 players took part in the competition and the prizes were presented by Ahmad Yussof from the Sandakan District Education Department.

Meanwhile, SDTA president Fernando D Rulloda was very happy with the increasing number of participation and credited the free tennis coaching sessions organised by the district association which started last year.
