Kota Kinabalu: An ultrasound machine was donated to Putatan Health Clinic by Deputy Chief Minister III, Datuk Shahelmy Yahya, Friday.
Shahelmy was represented by his secretary Sufian Datuk Matin, during the handover ceremony at the Putatan Health Clinic.
He said the addition of facilities, particularly for ultrasound services, at the health clinic anticipated to meet the needs of many individuals, reducing the burden on those who previously had to visit the hospital solely for this services.
“It is hoped that this health clinic will make the best use of the added facilities, prioritizing the well-being of patients and pregnant mothers,” he said.
Chairman of the Putatan Health Clinic Advisory Panel, Ahmad Mahmod said this enhancement will specifically benefit patients channeled through the Putatan Health Advisory Panel.
“We are grateful to Shahelmy for his charitable effort that will benefit patients from the district and nearby areas,” Ahmad said.
Ahmad said that as a health clinic serving thousands of patients from the district, it requires additional facilities comparable to those in larger hospitals.
This would ensure that patients in the district and its vicinity would no longer have to go to hospital for certain services.
The Medical Officer and Head of the Putatan Health Clinic, Dr Nik Farah Nik Fuad Yusof received the donation.
