NGO wants assurance on price hikes due to ICPT
“The people of Sabah are already burdened enough and this is proven through the increase in the number of absolute poverty incidents (IKM) of 19.7 per cent, much higher than the national rate (6.2 per cent)," said Juriah.
Kota Kinabalu: Bersama Kita Peduli Sabah Organisation (PBKPS) urged the State Government to issue an official statement to guarantee that the price of goods in Sabah will not increase as a result of the impact of the Imbalance Cost Pass-Through (ICPT) mechanism.

Its Chairperson Juriah Datuk Uda, in a statement, said many electricity users are worried that the SESB electricity tariff hike will result in an increase in the price of goods in Sabah and Labuan.

The increase announced by the Government, starting Jan 1, 2024, will not affect domestic users with electricity consumption not exceeding 1,500kWh.
