Brunei outfits bag team titles
D’amazing KBT KGA Koifish and KGA Koifish II team members with their prizes.
Kota Kinabalu: Team D’amazing KBT KGA Koifish from Brunei captured the premier division team title at the International Sabah Open Darts tournament held in conjunction with the Kota Kinabalu City 24th Anniversary celebration at the community hall on Sunday.

They took home the top RM8,000 cash prize while runners-up Vintage Narrapark had to settle for RM3,000 with joint third place winners KDS Bulih Tahan and Izing each receiving RM1,500.

The second division team title was won by another Bruneian team KGA Koifish II who also grabbed the RM1,000 prize. In second place to collect the RM500 cash was Noda BC 126 followed by KDC Yes and Kupang Lenged in joint third place, who each received RM250.

In the individual events, the men’s singles title and RM1,000 cash won by Hafizzami and in second place and RM500 went to AK Mohd Hamdi followed by Basran in third who received RM259 while the top three places in the women’s singles were Crisanne, MK (S91A), Rohana and each received RM500,RM400, RM200 respectively.

The main prizes were presented by organising chairman Felix Malankig at the closing ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

More than 100 teams took part in the three-day event organised by Kota Kinabalu City Hall and the opening ceremony was officiated by City Hall director general Junainah Abbie representing the Mayor Datuk Seri Sabin Samitah on Friday.

Sabin was delighted with the positive response, especially teams from Brunei and the Philippines.

He said it had achieved its target of attracting more foreign participants to visit the State and hoped the tournament will be expanded on a larger scale next year.
