Kayu Madang landill fire caused by forest fire

Kota Kinabalu: Kayu Madang landfill, in Telipok, near here, caught fire on Sunday, which was believed to have been caused by a nearby forest fire.

City Hall, in a statement, said the incident was reported to have started around noon and spread to the used tyre storage site at 3.15pm.

“The Fire and Rescue Department personnel reached the scene around 4.55pm to put out the fire,” said City Hall on Monday.

“City Hall has taken several safety measures to reduce the smoke using soil.
