Kota Kinabalu: The 5th Sabah Orphans Welfare Network Association (PJKAYS) Golf Charity event was successfully held at Sutera Harbour Marina Golf & Country Club on May 4.

A total of 116 golfers including some from Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Miri and Labuan apart from local participants teed up to compete for the attractive prizes as well as donating to a worthy cause.

PJKAYS president Datuk Eddie Abdullah was pleased with the turn-out despite the slow response earlier due to the fasting month and Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities in between the promotions.

“I am glad that we achieved our target, thanks to repeat participations from our previous series. This year marked the fourth consecutive year that PJKAYS has organised this fundraising golf event since our inception five years ago and I must state that this 2024 edition was another successful event,” he said.

He also acknowledged the sponsorships from Ocean Vantage Holdings Berhad through its managing director, Kenny Ronald Ngalin, who has been the Golf Amal’s main sponsor in addition to funding PJKAYS activities since 2022 as well as Fook Loi Corporation (Sabah) Sdn Bhd and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) who have also continued to support them in their efforts to raise funds to conduct welfare programmes and knowledge sharing sessions with the registered orphanage centres that they work with.
