Kota Kinabalu: Twenty-one students from the Taiwan Tainan Municipal Simen Elementary school had chosen Kinabalu Yacht Club (KYC) as their destination recently for their training programme.

They were accompanied by a team manager, a teacher and two coaches.

Apart from providing the training sessions, KYC also hopes it will help promote sports tourism to the Taiwanese.

Meanwhile, a friendly mini race was also held between the KYC team, the Saila (Sabah Sailing Association) team and the Taiwan Tainan Simen Argo sailing team.

The closing ceremony was attended by KYC vice commodore Allan Koay Kah Seng and bosun Omar Baki.
