Liberal Democratic Party ‘should seek to contest at least one seat’
During the joint conference and election of Likas, Api Api and Luyang divisions at the LDP headquarters, she expressed hope party President Datuk Chin Su Phin would engage in discussions with GRS regarding seat allocation.
Kota Kinabalu: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Likas Division Chairperson Glenna Wong called for negotiations with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to secure a seat in the west coast for the party to contest in the upcoming state election.

During the joint conference and election of Likas, Api Api and Luyang divisions at the LDP headquarters, she expressed hope party President Datuk Chin Su Phin would engage in discussions with GRS regarding seat allocation.

She emphasised the importance of having at least one LDP candidate contesting for a seat in the west coast.

The divisions also passed a motion nominating key party members for leadership positions in the upcoming party election in November.

Wong said west coast constituencies, particularly Likas, Api Api and Luyang, are strongholds of LDP, and the party is fully prepared to secure victory in the upcoming election by leveraging its strengths and working together diligently.

Luyang Division Chairman Simon Chin reiterated the party’s commitment to improving the wellbeing of communities through continuous efforts to address basic infrastructure, education and welfare issues. 

He emphasised that the party’s dedication is not just a temporary show but a constant commitment to serving the people.

Api Api Division Chief Sim Fui urged Sabahans to support GRS’s goal of increasing Sabah’s representation in Parliament to enhance the State’s bargaining power for better interests.

Drawing inspiration from Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) success in securing parliamentary and state seats in Sarawak, Sim emphasised the importance of strengthening GRS through increased parliamentary and state seat allocations for Sabah’s progress and development.
