(centre) from Kampung Baru Jumpa, Tenom, was crowned as Ruran Ulung (RU) 2024 at the 16th Irau Rayeh Lundayeh Sabah (IRLS) event organised by the Sabah Lundayeh Cultural Association (PKLS) at the PKLS Complex in Sipitang last Saturday.
Jesseykaren Alexander (left) from Kg Kalibatang Baru, Tenom, secured second place, followed by Racheal Crysteny (right) from Kota Kinabalu in third place.
Javan Yapet from Kg Long Mio, Sipitang, was named Padan Liu Burung (PLB) 2024.
The second place went to Jason Owen Salo Jos from Kg Baru Jumpa, Tenom, while Russell Sidan Terry from Kg Kaban, Sipitang, came in third.
A total of eight participants, four in the RU category and four in the PLB category, advanced to the final round.
The RU 2024 winner received RM2,000 in cash along with a tiara, certificate, trophy, sash and flowers.
The second-place winner received RM1,500 in cash, a tiara, trophy, sash, certificate and flowers, while the third-place winner took home RM1,000 in cash, a sash, trophy, certificate and flowers.
The PLB 2024 winner was awarded RM2,000, a traditional headgear, sash, certificate and trophy, while the second-place winner received RM1,500 in cash, a sash, certificate and trophy, and the third-place winner received RM1,000 in cash, a sash, certificate and trophy.
