Tuaran: Three houses were destroyed in a blaze at the Telipok Settlement Scheme, here, Tuesday.
However, no residents were reported injured or killed in the 11.35am blaze.
Lintas Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Agustavia Joe Guasi, said they received an emergency call on the incident at 11.42am.
She said a total of 27 firefighters from the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by teams from Lintas and Tuaran, were dispatched to the scene along with two fire engines and two Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) utility vehicles.
“Upon arrival, the fire brigade found that three non-permanent houses were completely destroyed by the fire. “The fire spread quickly, but fortunately, all the residents managed to escape in time and no one was injured,” Agustavia said here, Tuesday.
She added that the firefighting operation was successfully brought under control by 12.21pm, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby homes.
“The operation ended at 1.13pm, and the cause of the fire as well as the estimated losses are still under investigation,” she said.
It was understood that the operation also involved Sabah Electricity personnel and police.
