KOTA KINABALU: Police have launched an investigation after a man’s body was found floating in the sea in Tanjung Aru on Monday.
The discovery was reported to authorities by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) at around 2.30pm.
APM personnel retrieved the body and brought it ashore to the APM Tower in Tanjung Aru for further action.
Police units from the Kota Kinabalu MPV teams and Kepayan Ridge Patrol Unit, along with forensic officers, were deployed to the scene.
The body has been sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Forensic Unit for a post-mortem, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Tanjung Aru Police Station or Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters at 088-529222.
