Nod for extra RM368m
Kota Kinabalu: The State Legislative Assembly approved an additional sum of RM368.6 million to be taken out of the State Consolidated Fund for the State's expenditure on Monday.Of the figure, only RM135.31 million involved cash while the balance is merely to comply with accounting reconciling procedures, said Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Ramlee Marhaban, when tabling the Supplementary Supply Bill 2015 on Monday.

He said the biggest amount applied was for the outsourcing of the water treatment plant maintenance that cost RM55 million and another RM24 million for this year's purchase of water bulk supply rate as well as arrears payment to the State's water concessionaires.

Another RM8,273,500 was to pay for the special financial assistance for State civil servants that would be paid together with their July pay. Ramlee said the RM4.2 million was being applied for City Hall to pay for the reassessment of real estates in Kota Kinabalu City and for the road and bridge project linking the Maybank/Indonesian Consulate with Ming Garden areas in Sembulan.

He said RM2.5 million was needed to acquire a railbus for the railway service that was depending on limited and ageing car stocks. A total of RM45.3 million was applied to pay for the land acquisition involved in the State's development plan namely the Sandakan Education Hub, Kota Kinabalu Flood Mitigation Plan and detour and repair of the Inanam and Likas rivers.

Ramlee did not have to elaborate much in his winding up since all the issues raised by the assemblymen taking part in the debate were immediately answered by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman who is also Finance Minister earlier.
