Teen IMM13 holder is stabbed to death

Kota Kinabalu: A 19-year-old IMM13 card holder succumbed to injuries after he was stabbed at a squatter house in Kg. Rampayan, Manggatal, here, on Sunday. City Police Chief ACP M. Chandra said police confiscated a 30cm knife from a 37-year-old IMM13 holder who has been apprehended to facilitate investigations. Police initially received a call from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 at about 11.55pm, alerting them of a man who had died after being stabbed at a premises in Kg. Rampayan. ADVERTISEMENT
This prompted a team to the scene where they found that the incident took place at a squatter house which had a bedroom, living room and kitchen. Early investigations showed that a local Bajau stayed in the house with his wife and two young children. The man had also allowed his 37-year-old adopted brother and his wife's 19-year-old nephew to stay in the premises. Preliminary investigations showed that the woman's nephew had been staying in the premises for a year, while the man's adopted brother just moved in a month ago. ADVERTISEMENT
Further investigations gathered from the man showed that he and his family would sleep in the bedroom, while the nephew and adopted brother would sleep in the living room. The man claimed that a commotion from the living room at about 11.30pm, prompted him to wake up and inspect, only to find the older man holding a knife while the other was lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen next to the living room.
