Contractor charged with cheating duo of RM4,712

Kota Kinabalu: A 55-year-old contractor was charged at the Magistrate's Court on Thursday with cheating two men of RM4,712.Noidy Sikui pleaded not guilty to cheating one Johnwyn Mianus @ Anthony, 68, of RM2,000 by tricking him that he could carry out roof instalment works for Johnwyn.The offence allegedly took place at Kg Dombiku, Penampang at 1.20pm on May 12, 2015.

Noidy also claimed trial to the second count of cheating of Julsun @ Joseph Sikui, 68, of RM2,712, also on a similar pretext, at 10.30am on May 29 last year in Kg Dombiku, Penampang.Each offence under Section 420 of the Penal Code provides for a jail term of between one and 10 years, and whipping and fine, on conviction.Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun set Nov 10 for case management and offered Noidy bail at RM3,000 in two sureties.In another case, a 27-year-old Celminnex Ede Sitiwin claimed trial to attempted burglary.

The court fixed Nov 10 for case management and released Celminnex on a bail of RM4,500 in two sureties.
