Kuala Lumpur: The patron of the Professional Footballers' Association of Malaysia (PFAM), Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, has awarded Mohd Faiz Subri a gift of RM15,000.The amount is a reward for the Penang player's achievement of being listed among the three best candidates for the Fifa Puskas Award 2016.

According to the Johor Southern Tigers website, Tunku Ismail, who is also the Tunku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ), awarded the gift as appreciation for Mohd Faiz's success in bringing fame to the country.

"But it does not have anything to do with regard to speculation he will join JDT (Johor Darul Ta'zim) for next season's Malaysian League. "I wish good luck to Faiz Subri," he said.

Fifa, through its official website www.fifa.com, had announced the three best goals for the final of the Fifa Puskas Award 2016.

In addition to Mohd Faiz's magical goal, also listed in the final list for the award is a goal from Brazilian club Corinthians' Johnathan Marlon Azevedo da Silva and the sole woman representative, Daniuska Rodriguez of Venezuela.
