Giant shares X'mas spirit with disabled

Kota Kinabalu: Giant Sabah shared the spirit of giving this Christmas with 33 residents from Sabah Cheshire Home in a special celebration held at Giant Hypermarket, City Mall, on Friday. During the event, Giant gave away Christmas presents and contributions worth RM5,000 to the residents of the Home. Located in Likas, the Home provides care for persons with disabilities.

Giant City Mall Store General Manager Haznida Binti Zainal Abidin said the big hearted Giant volunteer brigade went all out to prepare a Christmas treat to entertain the residents with melodious tunes by Christmas carollers from Battle Church KK, engaging magic tricks from Kierra Lee along with special Christmas gifts from the Santa Claus. "At every major festive celebration, we at GCH Retail are committed to share the joyous celebrations with the community and spread the cheer as part of our corporate social responsibility activities. "We believe that Christmas is definitely one of those occasions where good values such as caring and togetherness are to be shared with all, including persons with disabilities."As Christmas is a time of love, sharing and giving, we hope that through our little gesture today, we have added happy memories to our special guests."

Cheshire Home supervisor Jennifer Liew said they were very happy to be invited by Giant to the event. "It is not always that persons with disabilities get a chance to visit places.
