Rubbish traps up
Kota Kinabalu: Nets which act as rubbish traps have been set up along the shoreline of Kg Tanjung Aru Baru, here.The nets were installed Thursday by Kg Tanjung Aru Baru Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK), village chief, bureau chief and residents as Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Edward Yong and Community Development Leader (PPM) Henry Chu visited the site.

Yong's presence, support and encouragement has raised the residents' motivation to do the clean-up for the sake of cleanliness of the village.

A gotong-royong is also scheduled to be held at the village tomorrow (Saturday) with Yong expected to participate.

Meanwhile, opposition Parti Anak Negeri is also planning a major clean-up of the Tanjung Aru coastline involving residents there.

Its leader Roger Chong was quoted as saying that the group will be setting up nets to collect rubbish especially those coming from the nearby Pulau Gaya.
