Pahang: Apart from retaining their titles, Pahang, as the treble winner last season, are setting their target higher this year by aiming to qualify for the AFC Cup finals.Pahang squad chief coach Zainal Abidin Hassan said to date, no Malaysia League teams had ever qualify for the AFC Cup finals. "We are aiming to qualify for the AFC Cup finals, not only for Pahang, but also to honour and bring glory to local football industry."

He said this to reporters after a ceremony to launch the state team's new PUMA-sponsored jersey, as well as Football Association of Pahang (PBNP)'s season pass at Darul Makmur Stadium, here Sunday. The jersey in yellow and blue is sold to members of the public at a price of RM129 per piece. Zainal also said having won the treble last season, Pahang had become other teams' prime target to defeat. "We are ready for even tougher competition this season and with our strong team spirit we should be able to retain all three titles," he said.
Earlier, PBNP announced to retain all players, as well as chief coach Zainal Abidin Hassan, along with four import players, namely Damion Delano Stewart, Matias Ruben Conti, Dickson Nwakaeme and Zeshan Rehman, for this season. – Bernama
