Kota Kinabalu: More than 300 participants attended the Scott Michelle Fitness Professional (SMFP) Fuze Fitness Glow Party event at the Foochow Hall. According to SMFP Fuze Fitness founder and creator cum event organiser Michelle Koh, the participants comprised members and their friends. "The turnout has been very encouraging and people start to know what is Fuze fitness all about as most people think its just dance. Basically we all have a background in fitness and we also learn how to do the safety movement while doing the modification movement and all the while having fun to punch kick and dance while getting fitter," she said.

"People who don't know how to dance also can do the simple steps because it is not only dance fitness style but for health and to get them going actively in a practical way."

She adds that Fuze fitness is different from other dance fitness routines in that it just isn't all about latin songs.

"We use all mixes of dance variety and not only mostly latin songs which Zumba is mostly about. But the important step is the warmup (and cooldown) part where we are very particular for safety reasons.

"Also those who want to be Fuze instructors need not be a dancers as long as they know how to count to the beat like aerobic steps. We will show them how to teach and choreograph the right way," she said adding that their fuze instructors come from all over Sabah.

Michelle said the proceed from the sales of tickets among members, friends and sponsors for the event would be given to the Sabah Council of Social Services to be distributed to non-governmental organisations.

Earlier, State Public Welfare Services Department Assistant Director, Lily Chin who represented State Minister of Community Development and Consumer Affairs Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid officiated the event and received a RM5,000 mock cheque from Koh.

The amount collected was made possible through sponsors, including Sayfol International School Sabah, Superb Toys, Pasti Canggih Sdn Bhd, Justina B.Yala, SMFP members and others.
