Kota Kinabalu: Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) will seriously explore all sustainable alternatives and scrap the Papar dam project if given the mandate in next Saturday’s Sabah election, said its President Datuk Seri Anifah Aman (pic).“If, after consulting with all stakeholders and studying the recommendations from the independent commission we are convinced that the project does not bring any real benefit in the long run other than just for a few contractors who will stand to profit, then we will scrap the project.
“We are a government who will always listen to the people first. We won’t simply bulldoze like Warisan Plus. We will listen to the experts and the communities who will see their traditional homelands drowned if the project went ahead,” he said, adding it would be transparent.
