Rakhbir elected new SHA president

Kota Kinabalu: Dato Sri K Rakhbir Singh is the newly elected President of Sabah Hockey Association at the Bi-Annual General Meeting held on Saturday at Wisma Kastam.He took over the helm from Datuk Hj Md Yousop Mansoor and will hold the post from 2015 to 2018.

In his maiden speech, Rakhbir told his newly-elected line up that he will want to see hockey talent in Sabah being tapped, pruned and developed and eventually join the ranks of Malaysian top hockey.

"Sabah must be in the mainstream in this sport at National level and there must be a Sabah representation in the top Malaysian squad," he said.

He added that hockey is not only for Kota Kinabalu but it is for all districts in Sabah and he wants hockey development in the State to reach all districts in terms of training material, equipment and coaching.

The new line up in the Sabah hockey association is President: Dato Sri K Rakhbir Singh; Deputy President: Dr. Charanjeet Singh Gill; Deputy President: Puan Hajah Nuinda Binti Haji Alias; Vice Presidents: Ajin. Wahid, Md. Rasi. Solong, Ahmam Bin Ahmad, Aziz Khan, Hamid Khan, Jokoourwato Jimin, Zurini Jumai, Hayati Mahmud; Secretary Avtar Singh; Treasurer Awang Damit and Assistant Secretary: Satuviner Singh and Josy Majalap.
