Kota Kinabalu: Peninsula-based Pakatan NGO Pro Barisan Nasional is confident that DAP lawmaker cum Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming was lying when he denied uploading the unacceptable remark on Hari Raya Aidilfitri on his Facebook page on July 6.Its President Zulkarnain Mahdar said it would be impossible for the Perak DAP Chairman to have no knowledge about what has been uploaded in the Facebook account under his name because no immediate action was taken by Nga to lodge a police report over such racist and unacceptable remark made during the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

"What made us sceptical about his denial was that it took him awhile to lodge a police report to deny when he, by all means, should have done so earlier and immediately.

"Instead, Nga only lodged the police report to deny the racist claim on Facebook after he was hit by many police reports and statements by people who love peace and harmony for over a week.

"That is why we have lodged a police report against Nga's statement to deny the remark so that police could take action," he said to reporters at the Karamunsing police station here Tuesday.

Nga was alleged to have ridiculed Muslims and Umno by describing the "duit raya" as "dedak" or "corruption money" by depicting it in a cartoon that was uploaded in a Facebook account under his name early this month.

Zulkarnain said Nga should emulate the quick action by Parti Keadilan Rakyat Vice President Nurul Izzah Anwar who immediately lodged a police report that there are a number of fake Facebook accounts under her name fabricated by irresponsible people to undermine her leadership.

"Nga probably thinks that he is fooling the people of Malaysia when he refuted the claims and acted as if he was the victim.

"But I believe that the people of Malaysia are no fools as they would know when a leader is telling lies or just creating a defence mechanism to avoid being blamed," he said.

Zulkarnain said it would be best for Nga to resign as the Member of Parliament for Taiping and as the Perak DAP Chairman as his leadership is questionable.
