Four hurt in accident

Kota Kinabalu: Four people including a 12-year-old boy sustained injuries in an accident involving three vehicles – a Kancil, Ford Ranger and a Fortuner – near the railway station in Tanjung Aru here, on Wednesday.It was learnt that Kancil driven by a 24-year-old woman who was with two women, aged 23 and 30, and the boy, was heading towards Putatan from the city centre in the 2.50pm mishap.

The driver was said to have lost control of the vehicle which collided with a Fortuner driven by a 57-year-old man who was heading towards the city from Putatan.

The accident caused a Ford Ranger to also crash into the vehicles. It was believed however that the driver did not stop but headed straight to the police station to lodge a report.

Meanwhile, in LAHAD DATU: Five people including two motorcyclists were injured in an accident involving four vehicles at Km10 along Lahad Datu-Tawau road on Wednesday.

It was learnt that in the 3.30pm incident, a Toyota Vigo and two motorcycles were heading to Tawau from Lahad Datu while a lorry was in the opposite direction.

According to a witness, the lorry's driver lost control of his wheel and entered the opposite lane before crashing into the Toyota Vigo.

One of the motorcyclists (scooter) behind the Toyota Vigo could not avoid but crash into the rear of Toyota Vigo.

Another motorcyclist who was also heading the same direction with the Toyota Vigo managed to avoid the accident but skidded to the road shoulder.

The motorcyclist who rammed into the Toyota Vigo suffered serious injuries.

Another motorcyclist, the lorry's driver and two passengers from Toyota Vigo were also injured in the incident.

All the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.
