SHAH ALAM: The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) expects the first three local companies selected to participate in its 5 Entrepreneurs Stabilisation Programme to be listed on Bursa Malaysia's Main Board eventually.PKNS Chief Executive Officer, Datin Paduka Dr Noraida Mohd Yusof said the first batch of enterprises participating in the programme, had the potential to spread their wings to a higher level through the corporation's guidance in managerial skills, finance and business opportunities.

"PKNS hopes initiatives like this will be able to further boost the businesses of entrepreneurs, so they can compete at a higher level, as well as get listed on the stock exchange by offering quality services and products.

"Through this programme, they can also ensure their companies continue to grow without PKNS' coaching after the period of guidance ends," she said, when met by reporters after the signing ceremony for the 5(U) Entrepreneurs Stabilisation Programme at the PKNS headquarters here on Friday.

Noraida said through the programme, PKNS would guide the companies by becoming one of their shareholders based on a set of criteria, as a sign of commitment through capital injection, in addition to offering them practical exercises or relevant courses.

"PKNS will also monitor the companies under the programme for five years to ensure they continue to grow without coaching thereafter," she added.

The three companies that inked the agreement were Syarikat Icon Futurehome Sdn Bhd, Al Kauthar Resources Sdn Bhd and Mutawwif Training and Consultancy Academy Sdn Bhd.

Meanwhile, Najman Kamaruddin, Executive Director of Icon Futurehome that supplies smart home-related products and services, said the participation of PKNS in his company allowed it to offer products directly to large housing developers.

He added that at the same time, the involvement of three PKNS representatives through shareholding in his company, helped weather business challenges, especially in marketing products straight to home owners. – Bernama
