Two held, 2,100 litres of diesel seized in Sandakan
Barrels and skid tanks used to store misappropriated subsidised diesel.
SANDAKAN: The Sabah Marine Police Force (Region 4) has intensified efforts to curb the misappropriation of subsidised fuel along the east coast of Sabah.

Its Commander ACP Ahmad Amri Abd Rahman said acting on intelligence, a raid was carried out at 2.45pm on a storage facility in Kampung Batu 11, Jalan Seguntor, here, recently.

Initial inspections found the premises was involved in transferring subsidised diesel from a lorry into skid tanks, believed to be for illegal diversion purposes. Two local men were detained during the operation to assist in investigations.

A 10-tonne lorry along with several pieces of equipment used in the fuel transfer activity were also seized.

Approximately 2,100 litres of diesel, estimated to be worth RM12,537 based on current market prices, were also confiscated.

The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.
