Class of 1976 returns to Lahad Datu school

LAHAD DATU: More than 40 alumni from 1976 cohort of SM ST Dominic returned to their alma mater to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation.

The alumni gathering, who are now in their seventies were welcomed by SM St. Dominic principle, Huang Wei Xian and teachers.

The visit provided an opportunity for former students to reconnect with the school and former classmates as well as schoolmates also to observe the transformation of the school after five decades.

During the visit, the alumni were briefed on the school’s latest academic achievements, ongoing developments and future plans.

The briefing also provides opportunities for both parties to exchange views and offer suggestions that could contribute to the school’s growth.

As appreciation to their alma mater, the 1976 cohort contributed a Public Address (PA) system and coffee tables for school’s hall with hopes could it could improve and establish more comfortable environment for school members and students.

The school expressed appreciation for the alumni’s continued commitment in supporting the school and it’s development.

The Golden Jubilee celebration was coordinated by an organising committee led by Chairman and Treasurer, Tung Vui Ming, Secretary Betty Lee, and committee members, Thomas Wong, Irene Chung, Clerence Chin and Wong Soo Len.
