The woman had earlier phoned her younger brother telling him that she had been robbed.

This prompted him to rush to her house where he found his sister lying on the living room floor, in pain but still conscious.

It was learnt that her ex-husband stays at Kampung Batu Putih Baru at Mile 7, here, and that the woman would sleep over at her sibling's house every night. She will return to switch off the lights at her house every morning and at the same time feed her cats.

The woman was believed to have related the incident to her sibling when he came to her aid and claimed that she was robbed by an acquaintance who happened to be her neighbour.

The suspect, known only as Eb, is a paperless Filipino in his 40s, who was on many occasions hired by villagers to cut their grass or to do handyman work. It was learnt that the suspect had been living in the village since 2008.
