Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FC played out a “cagey” 0-0 draw with Perak FA in their first-leg semi-final of the MFL Challenge Cup at the Manjung Municipal Council Stadium on Wednesday night.

Despite missing captain Dominic Tan from the starting eleven, Sabah FC still entered the match as favourites against the A1 Semi-Pro side, fielding six foreign imports compared to Perak FA’s two and a handful of Under-23 players.

The game saw both teams struggle to convert opportunities into goals.

Sabah FC attempted three shots from players Jafri Chew, S. Kumaarhan and Duje Ljubic, all of which were comfortably saved by Perak FA’s goalkeeper Ahmad Syazwan Syazany Ahmad Shafei.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
Sabah FC’s goalkeeper Damien Lim, on other hand, also made an important save with his leg, thwarting an effort from Mathew Idoko John.

It was a frustrating night for Sabah FC, and the stalemate leaves the outcome of the tie wide open with both sides set to resume battle on March 11 at Likas Stadium.
