Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Tourism Board (STB) has proposed the establishment of a dedicated Visit Sabah Year 2027 (VSY2027) secretariat to coordinate preparations for the statewide tourism campaign.
The proposal was among key matters discussed during the STB Board meeting chaired by chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, who is also Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, on Monday (June 29).
Joniston said VSY2027 requires a whole-of-government and whole-of-industry approach involving ministries, government agencies and tourism stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and implementation.
He said the initiative would include key ministries and agencies as well as industry players such as hotels, airlines, tour operators, rural tourism operators, and arts, culture and food communities.
The board also agreed to adopt “Naturally Inspiring” as the official tagline for VSY2027, reflecting Sabah’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage and adventure tourism offerings.
