IN ADDITION, Johnny said prospective homebuyers who face difficulties obtaining housing loans from commercial banks are encouraged to visit the Syarikat Jaminan Kredit Perumahan (SJKP) booth at the three-day Shareda PropEX 2026 to explore government-backed financing assistance.
He said Shareda continues to invite SJKP to participate in its annual property exhibition to improve access to home ownership, particularly for first-time buyers and lower-income households.
He acknowledged concerns over the widening gap between household incomes and rising house prices, especially amid increasing construction costs.
“That is why we invite SJKP every year. It provides a government guarantee scheme to help eligible buyers who are unable to secure financing from commercial banks.
“SJKP, an agency under the Federal Finance Ministry, would have a dedicated booth throughout the three-day exhibition to explain its financing guarantee programmes to visitors.
He said the scheme is intended primarily for first-time homebuyers and those in the B40 income group seeking affordable housing.
“There are eligibility requirements, so not everyone will qualify. However, those who are looking to buy their first home or are in the lower-income category should speak to SJKP representatives to understand the options available,” he said.
Johnny declined to elaborate on the programme’s technical details, saying SJKP officers would be better placed to advise prospective applicants on the available schemes and eligibility criteria.
He said Propex 2026 would feature not only property developers and real estate agencies but also government agencies and industry stakeholders offering information and support services to help Malaysians achieve home ownership.
“We want people to come and explore the different options available. Even if they think they may not qualify for conventional financing, there are government initiatives that could help them realise their dream of owning a home,” he said.
