A CEO Masterclass event next month
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Young Business and Industry Leaders (SYBIL), in collaboration with the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) Sabah, will host a CEO Masterclass 2026 on Aug 24 and 25, this year, bringing together business and government leaders to discuss leadership in an increasingly uncertain global landscape.

The auspicious event, to be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), carries the theme “Beyond Certainty — Leadership in Action” and is expected to attract chief executive officers, business owners, policymakers, government leaders, senior executives, start-up founders, young professional  and emerging leaders from across industries.

The organisers said the programme aims to equip participants with practical leadership skills and strategic insights as organisations navigate rapid technological change, economic volatility and shifting global dynamics.

“As industries continue to face rapid change, economic volatility, technological disruption, and shifting global dynamics, the event aims to explore how leaders can make decisions with clarity, courage, and strategic direction despite uncertainty.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
“Today’s leaders are no longer operating in environments with complete certainty. The ability to read situations, make decisions under pressure, and move organisations forward has become one of the most critical leadership capabilities,” the organising committee said in a statement here on Saturday.

The 2-day programme is curated to provide participants with both practical leadership exposure and high-level strategic discussions.

The event will begin to feature an immersive and interactive leadership experience designed around real-world decision-making scenarios.

“The first day will start with a Leadership Lab that is designed to encourage participants to think critically, collaborate across industries, and explore leadership responses in complex and fast-changing situations.

“Participants will engage in specially curated sessions including Scenario War Room, Pivot Court, AI Boardroom, and Fishbowl Sessions which are designed to simulate complex leadership challenges in fast-changing environments,” the organisers said.

While the second day, they said will feature the CEO Masterclass Conference, comprising keynote addresses, leadership conversations, cross-industry panel discussions and networking opportunities.

A key highlight returning this year is the highly-anticipated Human Library segment, where participants will engage directly with chief executives and founders in small-group discussions to gain first-hand insights into leadership experiences and decision-making.

The organisers said the event is intended to serve as more than a conventional conference by providing a platform for leadership development, collaboration and the exposure to real world and practical perspectives from decision-makers across various sectors.

“This is more than just listening to speakers on stage. It is about experiencing leadership in action, building meaningful connections, and gaining practical insights that participants can bring back into their organisations and communities,” the organisers said.
