Kota Kinabalu: The Labuan Chambers of Commerce are urged to jointly adopt a resolution to petition the Federal Government to approve a proposed construction of a Labuan-Sabah bridge through a Build Operate and Transfer (BOT) model, a strategy that has been successfully employed in Malaysia before.
Making the call, former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Mohd Salleh said the proposal aligns with the Forest City project in Johor whereas Labuan is a Free Port Island that offers many advantages over Johor.
He said such matter now rests upon Labuan’s leadership.
“The long standing proposal for the construction of the Labuan-Sabah Bridge has been a subject in various forums for many, many years.
