Kota Kinabalu: Former Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) leader Datuk Abidin Madingkir joined Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat), strengthening the party’s efforts to advance Sabah’s development agenda, political stability and support for Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
Abidin was joined by 30 former Star Paginatan committee members, who also announced their decision to join Gagasan Rakyat.

GRS Deputy Chairman and Gagasan Rakyat Deputy President Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun received the membership forms from Abidin at a ceremony here.
Gagasan Rakyat Information Chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan was also present.
The event also saw former Kota Kinabalu City Hall Mayor Datuk Nordin Siman submitting his application to join Gagasan Rakyat.
Abidin said more than 3,000 Paginatan constituents were expected to follow his lead in joining the party, expressing confidence that Gagasan Rakyat was the best platform to strengthen the struggle of local-based parties in Sabah.
The former Paginatan assemblyman said the decision was made after careful consideration to continue his political journey through a party that prioritises the interests of Sabah and its people.
“Gagasan Rakyat carries the aspirations of the people of Sabah while strengthening political stability, which is the foundation for the State’s development and progress,” he said.
Abidin also pledged to expand Gagasan Rakyat’s grassroots support and work closely with the party leadership to ensure Sabah’s development agenda continues to be implemented for the wellbeing of the people.
Among those present were former Paginatan Community Development Leader (PPM) Hisyamuddin Harun, former Star Paginatan Division Deputy Chief Jius Konsuling and former Star Paginatan Youth Chief Hillary Salmeon.
