Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) is forecasting a concentration of strong westerly winds that could potentially bring bad weather in several areas starting this Wednesday.

MetMalaysia, through a post on Facebook, announced that analysis of the latest weather forecast models shows that the concentration of the phenomenon is expected to occur in northern Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan on July 8 to 10, 2026.

The bad weather is also expected to hit the northern and eastern areas of Peninsular Malaysia on July 10 to 12, 2026.

According to MetMalaysia, the situation could result in strong winds and rough seas in the South China Sea, Phuket waters and north of the Strait of Malacca.

"This situation also has the potential to form a storm line that will bring thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds for a longer period in the affected areas," according to the post.
