Sabah RTD opens weekend counters for Budi Diesel
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Road Transport Department (RTD) has opened special counters on weekends to facilitate diesel vehicle ownership transfers for Budi Diesel applications.

The counters operate every Saturday and Sunday from July 4 to 26, from 8am to 5pm, at the Sabah RTD headquarters, all 16 branch offices and three Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) offices, with the UTC Keningau RTD counter beginning operations on July 12.

Sabah RTD said the initiative is aimed at helping eligible owners and users complete ownership transfer procedures more easily to facilitate their Budi Diesel applications.

From July 1 to 10, the department processed 885 diesel vehicle ownership transfers, comprising 733 pick-up trucks and 152 jeeps.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
Sabah RTD advised the public to check the Budi Madani eligibility requirements and prepare the necessary documents before visiting the counters to ensure smooth processing.
