RANAU: Thirteen diplomats from developing countries were exposed to the tagal system for the first time and are determined to bring the knowledge back to their countries.
Diplomats from Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cuba, Fiji, Iraq, Jordan, Maldives, Oman, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan came to Sabah as part of a Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) cultural diplomacy course organised by the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia.
The course from May 24-27 involved in-depth sessions to help participants gain a deeper grasp of Malaysian culture and diplomacy.
IDFR Director-General Datuk Syed Mohamad Bakri Syed Abd Rahman said they brought the participants to also enjoy the beauty of Mount Kinabalu.
