SEREMBAN: A husband and wife have been fined RM11,000 each by the Sessions Court here on Wednesday for keeping parts of a bearded pig and two Blue-crowned Hanging Parrots without the required permits, Kosmo reported.

Judge Mohamad Kamil Nizam handed down the ruling after Chau Thim Choy, 53, and Ng Sui Ping, 52, admitted to the charges brought against them.

The couple were found to have kept the protected wildlife species at a premises in Broga, Mantin, on 20 August 2020.

Their lawyer, Low Kin Fai, told the court that the pig had been obtained from the Orang Asli and argued his clients could not tell the difference between wild boar and domestic pigs.
