SEMPORNA: Police arrested a 41-year-old man
(pic) and seized syabu worth about RM500 during an operation at Kampung Gelam-Gelam, Pulau Bum Bum, here, on Monday.
District Police Chief Supt Tan Hiap Wah said the suspect was detained during Op Tapis conducted by police from the Pulau Bum Bum station.
He said police also seized 7.58 grammes of suspected syabu from the man.
“The suspect was taken to the Semporna police headquarters for further investigation. A remand application will be made, and the case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
Tan stressed that Semporna police would not compromise on drug trafficking or drug abuse activities and would take stern action against those involved.
He also urged the public to provide information on criminal activities, including drug-related cases, to help ensure public safety and security.
