LABUAN: A total of 48 traffic summonses were issued and nine motorcycles were seized during an integrated traffic operation conducted here.
Labuan District Police Chief Supt Mohd Hamizi Halim said the operation was carried out on Sunday, focusing on motorcycle-related offences mainly along Jalan Sungai Pagar (UMSKAL).
A total of 35 police officers and personnel from multiple departments, including the District Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPTD), Criminal Investigation Division (BSJD), Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (BSJND), Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division (BPJKK), and several local police stations, took part in the operation.
“The operation found that 23 motorcycles and 23 individuals were inspected,” he said.
He added that offences detected included failure to install side mirrors, no driving licence, modified exhaust systems, incomplete accessories, no number plates, structural modifications, failure to display learner’s licence “L”, non-functional brakes, no motor vehicle licence, no insurance coverage, worn-out tyres and non-compliant registration numbers.
Mohd Hamizi said the operation reflected continued enforcement efforts to improve road discipline and safety compliance among road users.
He added that such operations would be carried out continuously to curb illegal street activities and ensure the safety of all road users.
