TAWAU: A 25-year-old illegal immigrant was charged with raping his underaged sister-in-law.
The man pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Ahmad Faizadh Yahaya, to the charge against him on Wednesday.
However, the court deferred the man’s sentencing to Aug 3 pending the DNA report of the alleged victims.
The man who is currently serving sentence for entering the State illegally, is accused of raping the 11-year-old girl at 2am on May 22 this year at a house on the water in Semporna.
The offence under Section 376(2)(e) of the Penal Code carries a jail term of between ten and 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.
Prosecuting Officer ASP Nur Intan Jamrin appeared for the prosecution while the man was not represented.
